OBITUARY Amy Collett November 4, 1978 – July 7, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Amelia “Amy” Collett 11/4/1978 – 7/7/2018 Memorial service will be held July 21, 2018 at Crawford-Bowers funeral home at 2:00pm in Copperas Cove, Texas. Amy passed away peacefully on July 7, 2018 at Baylor Scott and White hospital in Temple, Texas after a courageous battle against colon cancer. She was born November 4, 1978 in Crawley in the United Kingdom to Roger Allen and Georgie (Collett) Allen.

As a young child her family relocated from the UK to California and then to New Jersey where she graduated high school in 1996. On June 10, 1998 she became a naturalized citizen of the United States. After high school she joined the US Army and was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

After honorable discharge from the Army she gained employment at Texas Department of Criminal Justice in July 2003. She worked for many years at the Crain unit before transferring to the Hughes unit where she promoted to Sergeant in April of 2009. She was a part of the Honor Guard and took great pride in wearing her uniform and being a part of TDCJ.

She dedicated a total of 13 years to TDCJ before she was forced to retire due to the cancer diagnosis. She loved and missed her job every day. She was married to Jennifer on February 18, 2017.

On this date not only did she marry her soul mate but she gained 2 children that she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her mother Georgie Collett, maternal grandparents Reginald and Betty Collett, and paternal grandparents Fredrick and Dorothy Allen. She was survived by her wife Jennifer Collett, children Matthew, Lanie and Logan.

Her brother Alex Allen and wife Suelen, one niece Mya Allen and father Roger Allen all of Florida and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Amy has touched so many lives in her short time on Earth. She was kind and loving to those who knew her and her family and friends know that Heaven gained the sweetest and most gentle of angels.
