MSG Andrew C. Cooper, 61, of New Smyrna Beach, died Friday, May 11, 2018 at Florida Hospital in New Smyrna. Andrew was born on the 28th of October 1956 in Oxfordshire, England, the son of LTC Henry Reynolds and Vida Patricia Hughes Cooper, and had recently returned to the area from Wilmington, Delaware. Andrew was a 23-year veteran of the United States Army.

Much of his career was spent in the 82nd Airborne Division, out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. MSG Cooper travelled the world during his time in the U.S. Army, including tours in Vincenza, Italy and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. During his many years of service, he exemplified the honor and bravery expected from a soldier.

Those who served with him remember him for his humor and dedication. Andrew was a complicated and fascinating man, beloved by many. His infectious wit and deep love for his family will be remembered by those who knew him.

Within his large family Andrew never failed to stand out. His stories and the stories told about his exploits, will carry on for years to come. Described as a favorite uncle, brother, and friend, he will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his three daughters, Courtney (David) Botzford of Edgewater, Florida, Nichole (Rob) Meehl of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Megan Belanger of Woonsocket, Rhode Island, as well as Wendell (Troy) Ivory of Raleigh, North Carolina, who was welcomed into the family as a young man and considered a son. Andrew is also survived by his six grandchildren, Anastasia, Isabella, Lauryn, Christian, Isaiah, and Seamus, as well as his second wife, Lisa Grant-Cooper of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and his 7 sisters, 4 brothers and countless nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his 3 half-sisters, as well as his first wife and childhood sweetheart, Kerry McBride-Cooper.

A service will be held in remembrance of MSG Cooper, at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery on June 8th at 9:30 am, with a reception honoring his life to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edgewater Animal Shelter,605 Mango Tree Drive, Edgewater, FL 32132 .
