ANDREW GLENN LAMOTHE Andrew Glenn LaMothe 70, a longtime resident of Grandview, Missouri entered eternal rest in the early morning of December 2, 2018 in Raytown, MO. Andrew was born on January 22, 1948 in New Orleans, Louisiana to parents, Norman B LaMothe Sr and Ruth LaMothe. He was raised in a Christian home with strong spiritual beliefs and morals as a child.

Andrew attended College at Dillard University in New Orleans, LA where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mathematics in 1970. At Dillard he pledged Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc He was dedicated member eventually serving as Polemarch for Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Kansas City Alumni chapter from 1979 to 1981.

In 1970, Andrew was recruited from Dillard University to the Teacher Core Program Teaching Math to students in the Des Moines, Iowa public school system. This program provided a fully paid scholarship for which he successfully completed a master’s degree from Drake University in 1972. Upon graduation, Andrew was offered a job as a Systems Analyst for IBM in Kansas City, MO.

He was one of the few African Americans hired at that time in his field. Over his 33-year career, he had many roles and received numerous promotions and recognition, however he was most proud of his ability to hire and advocate fairness on behalf of other African American Employees. As a Managing Principle, he managed support engineers for his biggest account, Walmart for which he was best known for the roll out and support of the Point of Sale System for Walmart based out of Bentonville, Arkansas.

Much of this implementation is used in Walmart stores across the nation. Andrew loved his family. He enjoyed taking road trips to his hometown of New Orleans.

He was a Mathematics genius, intelligent and had a charismatic laugh. He had a passion for music, singing, hosting family and friends and cooking his native foods. He was an avid recreational player of Dominos, Pinochle and Darts.

Most importantly he enjoyed being surrounded by family, his Fraternity brothers and Friends. Andrew impacted many lives and was respected by his peers, employees and family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman B LaMothe Sr. and Ruth LaMothe.

He is survived in death by his children; Tiffany S Washington and Edward A. LaMothe by Robby L. Warren and Lorenzo Dillard, Reno Dillard and Ryan Dillard by June Dillard; His brothers and sister, Lloyd B LaMothe, Norman B. LaMothe Jr and Winnifred Green; 13 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 12:00 P.M. KAPPA Service at 2:00 P.M. Interment Monday, December 3rd at 10:30 A.M. at Forest Hill Cemetery.
