Obituary of Andrew Pierce, Sr. US Army Veteran Andrew Pierce, Sr. (Andy) of Millsboro, DE passed away suddenly at Beebe Hospital in Lewes. Andrew was born in Wilmington, DE and was the son of the late Leo and Dorothea Elder Pierce. Andrew was a veteran of the US Army and honorably discharged as a Sergeant.

He also enjoyed a successful career as a butcher. His career began at the Deluxe Meat Market in Wilmington which was owned and operated by his brother-in-law. After moving to Sus County, he then worked at The Country Butcher Shop in Georgetown.

Andrew then owned and operated his own businesses, both Nebraska Meats in Lewes and Peddlers Village Meat Market in Lewes. Finally, Andrew was employed as a butcher for over 20 years at Hocker’s Super Center in Ocean View. He enjoyed his time working with George and Brian, and was friends will all of his co-workers at Hocker’s.

Andrew is survived by his wife, Deborah Pierce, and their three children: Deborah Miller (Tunie) and husband, Harry; Andrea Lowe and husband, Roy; and Andrew Pierce Jr. and his fiancé, Crystal; His sister: Dorothea Macholl; Seven grandchildren: Nicole Pierce, Korin Pierce, Harry Miller Jr., Colby Lowe, Thorn Lowe, Diamond Mahan, and Cayla Marine; One great-grandchild, Nicole Cautillo (Tink), along with several nieces and nephews; All of whom he dearly loved. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service is planned for March 16, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. in Millsboro at 7 PM, where friends may call from 6 PM to 7PM for visitation.

Inurnment will be held with Military Honors at 1 PM on Monday, March 18, 2019 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that in his memory you “pay it forward” by performing a good deed, helping someone in need, or showing a meaningful act of kindness to even an unexpecting stranger. In doing so, the positive impact will make a difference in the world as Andrew’s life on earth has made to all of us.
