Obituary of Andrew Richardson Andrew A. Richardson, a lifelong resident of Monticello, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the age of 82. Andrew was born on January 16th, 1937 to Harriet (Hattie) Gibson and Edward Richardson of Monticello. Andrew was always ready to serve.

In his youth he was a Sea Scout and GOP of the Monticello class of 1956. After graduation Andy served in the Army being stationed in Korea. Upon returning to Monticello he was a charter member of the Monticello Ambulance Corp.

, a charter member of the Monticello Lions Club, a member of the Monticello Elk’s lodge and vestryperson for St. John’s Episcopal Church. He was also a lifetime member of the Monticello Fire Department. Many people might recognize him from his years in the banking business.

He worked for the National Union Bank from 1965 merging with Key Bank in which he was Assistant Vice President and accepted a position as branch manager. Andy then joined the team at The First National Bank of Jeffersonville for a number of years before retiring. Although Andy was an all-around athlete Softball was his passion.

He played for many teams over the years and was so excited to be asked to travel to the National Softball Tournament in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He was inducted into the Sullivan County Softball Hall of Fame. He is survived by his children Carena Collura (Vinnie), Blake Richardson, and Kathryn Brungot (Erik); granddaughter Graycen; and his former wife Patricia Richardson.

The family will be celebrating Andrew’s life on Friday January 25th from 3-7pms at the VanInwegen-Kenny Funeral Home, 401 Broadway in Monticello. Funeral services with be held at 6 pm with a Firemen’s service at 6:30pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Monticello Fire Department or to the WSUL Heart-A-Thon www.
