Obituary for Angela M. Pappas Deerfield – Angela M. Pappas, 88, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2018, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare. Angela was born on June 19, 1930, in Union City, New Jersey, the daughter of Pasquale and Josephine (Repetto) Lasagna. She attended Cliffside Park High School, New Jersey.

On July 24, 1955, Angela married William George Pappas in New York City. She was an executive secretary for the Oneida County Executive prior to retiring. Angela was a lifelong member of Grace Church.

Angela was a devoted wife whose family was paramount. She was a career woman who worked hard but her most important job was nurturing her daughter, Dianne. Angela was feisty and strong-willed.

She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, talking politics, working in her garden and walking. She was ahead of her time with her healthful lifestyle which was strengthened by her affiliation with Shaklee, where she and Bill made many friends. Surviving besides her beloved husband, William, is her cherished daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Michael Nassar, Deerfield; grandchildren, Michael and Alexis Nassar; sister-in-law, Sondra Lasagna, Texas and nephew and niece, Brian Lasagna and Beth Turk.

Angela will be dearly missed by her canine companion, Flash. She was predeceased by her brother, John Lasagna. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday from 4-6 p.m. at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd.

, Utica. Funeral services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grace Church, 6 Elizabeth St., Utica. Angela’s family extends their gratitude to Dr. Scott Brehaut and staff for the care and compassion shown to Angela.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances in Angela’s name may be made to Stevens-Swan Humane Society (www. stevens-swan.org). Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
