Obituary for Angelo Stamatis Angelo Stamatis, 87, of New Britain, husband of the late Mary Ellen (Olsen) Stamatis, passed away Monday (January 7, 2019) at Newington Rapid Recovery & Rehab. Born in New Britain, he was a former Southington and Plainville resident, living in New Britain most of his life. Angelo served with the US Army during the Korean Conflict and was a Cement Mixer Driver for Aiudi Concrete in Plainville for 15 years, retiring in 2001.

He was a former member of St. Thomas Church in Southington and the Southington American Legion Post 72. He is survived by a sister, Lucille Greos of New Britain, a daughter, Lisa and husband Darwin Robinson and 3 grandsons: Daniel, Ryan and Patrick. Graveside funeral services with military honors will be 2 PM Thursday (January 17, 2019) at The CT State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown.
