Obituary for Anita Gail Rogers Anita Rogers went to be with Jesus on November 5, 2018 from her home in Kerrville. She was born in Houston on May 17, 1956 to Ruth and Joe Canniff. Anita was raised in Houston.

While working toward her BA from the U of H, she met the love of her life, Dave Rogers at the university Chi Alpha Christian fellowship. They married in 1978 and had two sons, Aaron Michael and Charles Rogers. Anita and Dave raised their family in the Houston area for 25 years before moving to Kerrville 18 years ago.

While her boys were young, Anita was a-stay-at-home. As they became school age, she returned to private practice as a CPA. The past 7 years she was on staff as an accountant for Nature Blinds in Kerrville.

Anita’s true calling in life was to minister side by side with her husband Dave as one to bring His blessings to others. While living in Houston, Anita and Dave were a part of Church in the City in downtown Houston. Upon moving to Kerrville, they were led to join Church of the Hills in Ingram.

Seven years ago, Dave became the pastor there and they continued to bless their church family and all who came. Anita spent her life’s work dedicating her time to teaching and counseling children and truly anyone who came to her. She loved helping others them build a relationship with God.

Her walk with Jesus was important to Anita as was her fellowship with family and friends. She lived for Him and could easily hear the voice of the Lord and to bring His Word in season to others. Anita was also creative and dramatic, using those talents to create plays and skits for the ministry.

To remember Anita is to look at the meaning for her name, the word Anita translates to “Grace” and she was the true epitome of the word. She will be remembered for all her beautiful characteristics and traits, but above all she will be remembered for the love she gave to her husband, sons, grandchildren, family and friends. Anita is survived by her husband of 40 years, David Rogers; sons, Aaron Michael Rogers and Charles Rogers; daughter, Kayla Rogers; grandchildren, Faith, Aaron Jr, Kaylie and Mason; her parents, Joe and Ruth Canniff; siblings, Sharon Meyers and Steve Canniff; mother in law, Catherine Rogers; sister and brother in laws, Phil Rogers, PhD, William Pettit Rogers II (Beth), Ken Rogers, Sara Kellner (Mark), Mary Catherine Rogers and Nancy Mowen (Charlie); also, numerous niece and nephews.
