Ann Walsh Bove crossed into eternity to join her late husband, Nicholas Joseph Bove on July 2, 2018. Mrs. Bove was born in Huntington on August 12, 1924. She was the daughter of John Walsh and Ann Crinock Walsh, the 5th of 10 Walsh children.

She was a 1942 graduate of Shelton High School. She was a 1945 graduate of St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in Bridgeport. In 1949, she married Nicholas Joseph Bove, a founder of the Bove Tool Company.

When her husband passed away suddenly on March 24, 1955, she was left to raise two young sons: Nicholas Joseph Bove,Jr. (then age 3) and Michael Richard Bove (then 9 months). She earned a B.S. degree in nursing from the University of Bridgeport in 1962.

She worked as a nurse for the Visiting Nurse’s Association of Fairfield before starting a long career as an instructor at the then St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing. She retired from St. Vincent’s School of Nursing in 1989. While an instructor St. Vincent’s, she received a Master’s Degree in education from Fairfield University in 1973.

She is survived by her sons: Nicholas Joseph Bove, Jr. and his wife, Martine of Trumbull; Michael Richard Bove and his wife Shirley of Otawa, KS; three grandchildren: Philip Gerard Bove and James Joseph Bove of Trumbull and Michael Richard Bove, III of KS; two sisters: Dorothy Pelletier of Newtown and Sally Schiffer of Huntington; two brothers: John Walsh of Danby, VT and Thomas Walsh of Huntington. She was predeceased by three sisters: Gladys Federowicz, Marion Kotenski and Alice Kepchar; two brothers: Edward Walsh and Harold Walsh. The family would like to thank VITAS Healthcare and Mona Mucho of Carefinders for their assistance during the last few months.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Rd. Trumbull. A solemn requiem Latin Mass will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at 10 a.m at Christ the King Church, 209 Tackora Trail, Ridgefield,CT.

Interment to follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery Stratford. In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the St. Ignatius Retreat House, 209 Tackora Trail, Ridgefield, CT 06877.
