Anna’s Obituary Anna Frances Knight (Smith), 66, of Taylor, MI, went to be with her heavenly father on Friday, January 11, 2019. Anna was born on October 21, 1952, in Ypsilanti, MI, to Betty Louise and Albert Vernon Smith. At age 15, she met the love of her life, William Roger Knight, at the roller rink.

The two married in 1971 and enjoyed 47 years of a loving marriage. Anna graduated from Taylor Center High School in 1970. In 1972, she obtained a certificate of cosmetology from State College of Beauty.

Anna proudly served as a part of the Taylor Center Booster Club and was a member of Kirby Freewill Baptist Church. However, her proudest accomplishment was being a mother to anybody who lived under her roof, including her own two children, but ranging from nephews to grandchildren to grand nieces and nephews. Anna was a creative and talented homemaker who enjoyed making and selling wreaths, dolls, and a variety of lawn ornaments.

She is known for her nurturing spirit, sarcastic sense of humor, and strong character. Anna was survived by her father Albert Vernon Smith (Mary) of Lincoln Park, MI; husband, William Roger Knight of Taylor, MI; daughter, Delphine Hardin (Matthew) of North Adams, MI; son, Kenneth Knight (Becky) of Nashville, TN; grandson, Lawrence Hardin (Evie) of Hillsdale, MI; granddaughter, Abigail Lucey (Jason) of Jacksonville, NC; granddaughter Breanna Hardin of North Adams, MI; sister, Patricia Smith of Taylor, MI; sister, Connie Waynick of Taylor, MI; 2 brothers in law, 3 nieces, 6 nephews, and multiple grand-nephews and grand-nieces, as well as a beloved, spoiled fur-dog, Woo Hooo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Smith of Taylor, MI; grandmother, Ola Smith; brother, Lloyd Smith; and sister, Verna Faye Smith.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home (Taylor Chapel), 9800 Telegraph Road, Taylor, MI, 48180. Burial to follow at Michigan Memorial. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home.
