Anna Kohn TRAVERSE CITY – Anna Kohn, age 93, of Traverse City passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the Traverse Manor Assisted Living Facility in the loving care of her family. Anna was born to William and Annie (Geddes) Murray on October 3, 1925 in Kearny, NJ. Anna worked for over 26 years with the Michigan school system, including; Bay City schools and Traverse City Area Public Schools.

She was also previously employed at Dow Corning Corporation in Midland. She and her husband Kalvin were members of Traverse Bay (Asbury) United Methodist Church and belonged to many area square dancing clubs. Anna was an avid golfer and spent many years as co-chairperson in charge of Marshals for Michigan Open Golf Tournaments, Michigan Bell Showdown, and various other golf tournaments held at Grand Traverse Resort Golf Course.

Anna is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Larry) Szynkowski, Sarasota, Fl, grandchildren; Jon Kraut, Brandon (Kristen) Kohn, and great-grandchildren; Mya and Kathlyn Kraut, Korben Kohn, and Kallum Kohn. Anna was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents. Per the family’s requests, cremation has taken place and Anna will be laid to rest next to her husband Kalvin at Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in the spring.
