Anna Marie Lewis-Reid of Kansas City. Missouri departed this life on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Lexington, Missouri. Anna was born on April 9, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Herbert Lewis, Sr. and Minerva Lewis-Harry.

Anna was born on Easter Sunday. That’s how she got the nickname, “Bunny”, from her uncle Buster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hebert Lewis, Sr. and Minerva Lewis-Harry, two siblings, a sister, Ruby Bruce and a brother, Herbert Lewis, Jr., one daughter, Crystal Lewis, and three grandchildren, Michael L. Stanford, Jr., Calvert Antwine, Jr. and Carlton Lee Lewis.

Anna was educated in the Kansas City Public School system. During her late teens, she worked for the Golden Ox Restaurant to help care for her firstborn son, Robert Lewis. She then met the love of her life, Delton A. Pitts, and they soon married.

To this union, three children were born, Sharon, Rodney and Crystal. Years later the marriage was dissolved. She later had a daughter, Candi Lewis and a son, Michael Reid.

After leaving the Golden Ox Restaurant, she was employed with the Kansas City Star Newspaper as a Clerk and went on to work at “GSA” (General Services Administration) for over thirty years, retiring in 1993. Anna was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Anna Marie Lewis-Reid leaves to cherish her memories, three sons: Robert Lewis (Trisha) of Olathe, Kansas, Rodney Lewis (Rebecca Scott) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Michael Reid (Churea) of Independence, Missouri; two daughters, Sharon Lewis-Brewster (Syl) of Kansas City, Missouri and Candace Lewis of Independence, Missouri; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Service for Anna Marie Lewis-Reid will be held Saturday, June 23, 11:00 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment, Brooking Cemetery.
