Annabelle Neal, 88 of Sportsburg, passed away Friday, February 8, 2019 at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. Annabelle was born February 17, 1930 in Syracuse, NY. She was a daughter of the late George A. And Alpha (Hazelett) Smith.

She was a member of the Sportsburg United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for 51 years. She liked reading and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. She was also a member of the Eastern Star.

She was married to the late Thomas E. Neal. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Mark and Harry Smith. She is survived by two daughters; Linda Behrendt and husband William of Smicksburg and Diane Behrendt and husband James of Lincoln Park, MI.

Three brothers; George Smith, Jr. of Virginia, Robert Smith and wife Tara of Harris, MO. , Max Smith of Vandergrift and three sisters; Betty DeVan and husband Gary of Salem, OH. , Sally Jones and husband Thomas of DuBois and Susan Suhm and husband Randall of Sweetwater, TX.

Four grandchildren; Heather and husband Andrew Martin, Jr., Todd Behrendt, Michael Behrendt and wife Amy, Laura Hostetter and husband Ryan. Eight grandchildren; Colin and Logan Martin, Anthony and Amelia Behrendt, Ty Behrendt, Lucy Hawk and Braden and Bryce Hostetter. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Monday, February 11, 2019 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 12th at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Topar officiating. Private interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery. Please make donations to the Grace United Methodist Church at 61 Hillcrest Drive, Punxsutawney, PA.
