Annabel McKinney, age 91, died at her home in Pleasant Plain, Ohio, November 1, 2018. She was born September 23, 1927, daughter of the late Mary M. South and John E. McKinney in the family home where she lived. Two sisters , Hortense Murphy and Margaret Hollon, preceded her in death.

She had no children, but was blessed with many nieces and nephews and extended family. They include nieces, Brenda Hollon Craig of Blanchester, Linda Hollon (Clifford) Craig of Batavia, and nephew, Dr. John ( Jennifer) Hollon of Wilmington. Also, nieces Joan Murphy (Bruce) Mickey of Cincinnati, Debbie Murphy (Steve) Dunn of Blanchester, and Jamie Murphy ( Harry) Bissinger of Acworth, Georgia.

She was recently preceded in death by a loving nephew, Mayor Chad (Wilma) Hollon of Blanchester. Many other great-nieces and nephews enjoyed her company, her outspoken qualities, and wonderful sense of humor, leaving with them colorful stories to recall with laughter. She is also survived by a loyal friend and care taker, Tim Payne, and special friend, Jackie Johnson Burchett.

Annabel worked for many years at the Irwin Auger Bit Company in Wilmington. She had an avid interest in family genealogy and spent years researching her family roots and learning about the history of her ancestors. She also loved collecting antiques, cooking, gardening, and bird watching from her home where she kept the feeders full!

One of her favorite times of the year was basketball season when she watched the University of West Virginia Mountaineers team led by Coach Bob Huggins. Tuft Schildmeyer Family Funeral Home in Blanchester is in charge of the arrangements. She requested no calling hours.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial in the Blanchester I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grace United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 66, Blanchester, OH 45107, or to a charity of your choice.
