Obituary of Anna Knoop Anna Knoop, (nee D’Orazio), age 89, late of rural Mazon, and formerly of Elwood, passed away peacefully, Thursday, December 20th, 2018 with her family at her side in her daughter’s home. Born March 20th, 1929 in Aliquippa, PA, she was the daughter of Crescenzo D’Oazio and Palma (nee Celidonio). Anna retired in 1992 from the University of St. Francis after many years working in the cafeteria.

In retirement, she served her family and community with her gift of hospitality, kindness, and honesty. Anna loved Jesus with all her heart and is now at peace with her Heavenly Father. She gave a beautiful legacy of love and grace to her family and friends.

Surviving are her three children, Karl (Dawn) Knoop, Cindy (Richard) Fritz and Rita (Peter) Vienne; 10 grandchildren; Richie (Stacy) Fritz, Matthew Fritz, Jeremey (Fiance- Danielle) Fritz, Peter (Cortney) Vienne, Zachary (Ann Marie) Vienne, Sarah (Matthew) Jones, Jacob (Kara) Vienne, Samantha Vienne, Kadie (Stan) Kowalewski, Jonathan Knoop. 15 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Ida Delrose, Nancy (Paul) Corsetti, Josephine (Joseph) Srsnick and Rita (Richard) Mattea; sister in-law Shirley Yowell and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George Knoop; her parents; sister, Eva Galounis; and brothers in-law, Alex Galounis and Manny Delrose.

Funeral services for Anna Knoop will be held Friday, December 28th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m., at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 245 S. Kankakee St. Coal City, IL. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, December 27th, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive, Morris IL, 60450.
