Anna Faulkner passed away peacefully on December 29, 2018 at the Brookdale Village Senior Living Community in Oklahoma City at the age of 92. Anna was born on October 1, 1926 near Minsk, Russia (Belarus) to Constantine and Sonia Zichanowitsch and was the youngest of three children. During the German occupation of Russia, she was forcibly sent to Bavaria and made to work in the German war efforts as a teenager, struggling to survive.

Following the war, Anna and her young daughter, Veronica, were sponsored by the First Methodist Church of Oklahoma City and brought to the United States as Displaced Persons. Once here, she was provided a place to stay and a job at the Walter Williams Candy Company (Later known as Bunte Candy). It was there that she met the love of her life, Charles Faulkner, with whom she spent the next sixty-two years in marriage and raised two children.

The most important things in this life to Anna were: family, church and friends. She was happiest when spending time with family and friends, whether it was a family reunion, holiday celebration or just a simple visit. The highlight of each week for her was worshipping with her church family at First Baptist Church of Edmond, which she greatly missed after moving to assisted living.

Anna will be remembered for her strong will, fighting spirit, determination and love of a lively game of Skipbo or dominoes. She was very patriotic and loved this country for giving her the life she could only dream of as a child. Anna is survived by her son, Greg Faulkner, his wife Cindy and cherished granddaughter, Emily of Oklahoma City; daughter, Veronica Pastel Egelston of Oklahoma City; grandson, Kelvin Williams, his wife Amy and beloved great grandchildren, Carson and Mary Alice of Dallas; brother-in-law, Raymond Faulkner of Phoenix and 10 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge and give special thanks to her devoted caregivers: Wendy, Beauty, Angela, Blessing and her very special friend, Tammy McHenry. In addition to her parents and siblings, Anna was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Charles, in 2015; sisters-in-law, Fuji, Fleeta, Geneal, Mava and Rosa; brothers-in-law, Richard, Byron, Cecil and Jim; niece, Barbara; nephews, George, Tommy and Leslie; son-in-law, Robert Egelston and best friends Elsie and Tom Tate.
