Heaven welcomed Annette B. Weiss, age 98, of Alexandria, on Sunday, June 3, 2018. She completed her journey on earth surrounded by love. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at the Lind Family Funeral Home in Alexandria with Pastor Brad Soenksen officiating.

Music is provided by Kelly Newhall. Interment will be at Bagstevold Cemetery, Erhard. Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Annette Blanche was born on January 5, 1920, to Fredrich and Bertha (Grunewald) Zimmerman on the family farm in Oscar Township. She felt blessed to be one of thirteen brothers and sisters. She attended Country School through the eighth grade.

Annette was united in marriage to Hallet Weiss on October 16, 1937, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Elizabeth. They lived in Erhard for 40 years and raised four children. They made their church home at Grace Lutheran Church where Annette was a lifetime member.

Together they lived in Fargo for 20 years. After Hallet died, Annette moved to Fergus Falls. She had many roles including nursing assistant, loving daycare provider and helping on the farm.

Annette also enjoyed spending time gardening, sewing and refinishing antiques. She was most proud of being grandma and great-grandma. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hallet; daughter, Jean Bohnet; and great-granddaughter, Rose Loegering.

Annette is survived by her son, David (Regina) Weiss of Fergus Falls; two daughters, Diane (Eli) Purdy of Fargo, North Dakota and Kari (Lee) Newhall of Alexandria; sister, Evelyn “Billy” Heggen of Olympia, Washington; eight grandchildren, Stacy (Mark) Hamilton of Denton, Texas, Stephanie (Ross) Huebner of Alexandria, Cara (Tom) Wolf of St. Paul, Andrea (Nick) Loegering of Fargo, North Dakota, Crista (Todd) Baumer of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Brandon (Erin) Boe of England, Tyler (Amitty) Newhall and Jacob (Kelly) Newhall both of St. Louis Park; and 17 great-grandchildren.
