Florence – Annie Francine McNeece Creecy, 65, passed away February 7, 2019, in her home surrounded by her family and friends after a four and a half year battle with brain cancer. She was born March 3, 1953 in Fulton, Mississippi to Robert O’Neal and Annie Frances McNeece. She graduated Tupelo High School and received her B.S. in Distributive Education from Mississippi State University.

She married Michael Harrison Creecy on January 10, 1976, and together they had 4 children, 2 sons and 2 daughters. Francine was a teacher when she and Mike were first married. After they had children, she was a stay at home mother.

Once her children were older, she worked for the Lauderdale County Extension system for 16 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, cooking, and helping others.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Florence. Survivors include her husband, Mike Creecy; two sons, Jeff Creecy, of Marietta, Georgia, David Creecy of Tupelo, Mississippi; two daughters, Rebecca Posey and husband, Brad, Sarah Rushforth and husband, James, all of Nesbit, Mississippi; father, Robert McNeece, of Tupelo, Mississippi; two brothers, Mike McNeece and wife, Lettie, Jesse McNeece and wife, Donna, two sisters; Judy McNeece Stroup and husband, Mike, Sherrye Gregory and husband, Mike, all of Tupelo, Mississippi; brother-in-law James Creecy and wife, Marshall Lea, of Senatobia, Mississippi; 5 grandchildren, Morgan, Claire, Hannah, Harper Posey, and Cody Rushforth; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Hall McNeece; a brother, Terry O’Neal McNeece; in-laws W.B. Stewart and wife Wanda.

The family would like to thank the countless friends and family who have helped over the last four and half years with support, food, rides to and from Birmingham, and prayers. We are forever grateful for all that was done. Thank you does not do justice for all the support received.

We would also like to thank the doctors and staff at the UAB Kirklin Clinic, especially Thiru Pillay. Special thanks to Judy Miller who took care of her in her final days; and Kindred Hospice of Florence, especially her nurse, Shawna Stanfield. The family will receive friends Saturday, February 16, from 1-3 PM, at First United Methodist Church of Florence in McDowell Hall.

The Memorial Service will immediately follow in the sanctuary. Donations may be made to the Gideons International (gideons.org/donate) or the National Brain Tumor Society (braintumor.org/).
