Peggy Ann Deaton, 82, of Florence, passed away January 31, 2019. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church. Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2019 from 11-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Brother Chad Hess officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Mrs. Deaton was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Willie Mae Petty; brother, Billy Petty; and sister, Betty Hubbard.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Deaton of Florence; sons, Paul Deaton (Tamela) of Killen, AL; and John Deaton (Deborah) of Philiadelphia, PA; daughter, Pam Hagood (Randy) of Hoover, AL; brother, Charles Petty (Linda) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Jason Deaton, Wesley Hagood, Anthony Deaton, Adam Deaton, Ryan Hagood, Meredith Morris, Matthew Deaton, Timothy Deaton, and Jonathan Deaton; and great-grandchildren, Lexi Deaton, Mark Livingston, John Sertler, Xander, Sydney, Karli, Eli, Devin, and Izac Deaton, and Abigail Hagood. Pallbearers will be Jason Deaton, Anthony Deaton, Adam Deaton, Wesley Hagood, Ryan Hagood, Matthew Deaton, Timothy Deaton, and Jonathan Deaton. Special thanks to Alacare Home Health, Alacare Hospice, and Don Anderson’s Sunday School Class and other friends at Woodmont Baptist Church.
