Britta Carol Hughes, 70 of Florence, AL passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at North Alabama Medical Center. She was a graduate of Coffee High School, UNA and UAB and was in the first graduating class in Occupational Therapy with a master’s degree at UAB. She was retired from Helen Keller Hospital and was a loyal volunteer for PAWS as well as Loaves and Fishes.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hassell and Louise Hughes. Survivors include her brother, Tim Hughes (Sabrina); niece, Rachael Armayor (John); nephew, Connor Hughes and a host of old friends that she considered family. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to PAWS, Loaves and Fishes or the North Alabama Food Bank.
