James Scott Butler, 53, of Florence, passed away at his sister’s home in Elkmont, Alabama on March 19, 2019. He was of the Christian faith, an avid Alabama football fan, he loved his dog, Harley, and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a proud United States Marine Corps veteran and he loved America!

Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on from 12 Noon – 1 p.m. on Friday, March 22, 2019. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Greenview Memorial Park with Chris White officiating. He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Jackson Butler; grandparents, Otis and Jimmie Stanfield and Jim and Mattie Butler.

Survivors include his mother, Della Stanfield Butler of Florence; brothers, Robert Douglas Butler (Lisa) of Madison, AL and Michael Aubrey Butler of Killen, AL; sister, Trudy Butler-Turney (Steve) of Elkmont, AL and niece, Madison Butler. The family would like to thank Debra of Kindred Hospice of Huntsville, AL, Dr. Meiri and staff at CTCA of Atlanta and Dr. Ricky Irons and staff of Florence, AL.
