Obituary for Mrs. Annie Marie Porterfield FORT MEADE – Mrs. Annie Marie Porterfield, 89, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 in Lakeland, FL. Mrs. Porterfield was born in Ochlochnee, GA on August 20, 1929 to Tom and Bessie Lewis. She moved to Fort Meade in 1948, working in the cafeterias of both, Lewis Elementary and Fort Meade High School, and serving as a pre-school teacher for many years at the Child Development Center.

She loved her hometown, and she never met a stranger. Mrs. Porterfield moved into Savannah Court in Bartow, FL, just over three years ago, and could often be found watching game shows, making crafts, and socializing with all of her friends. Mrs. Porterfield was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Porterfield, as well as her parents and eight siblings.

She is survived by her son, Donald Porterfield and wife Angi, of Apex, NC; daughter, Connie Bakach and husband John, Lithia, FL; five grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
