Anthony Fontanez, a resident of Beacon and formerly of Tampa, Florida, entered into rest on May 29, 2019 at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence, Newburgh. He was 55 years old. Tony was born in Brooklyn on December 29, 1963 the son of the Carmen Santiago and the late Antonio Fontanez.

Tony had worked as a HVAC technician in Tampa before he was forced to retire due to illness. He was a member of the Tabernacle of Christ Church in Beacon. In addition to his mother, Tony is survived by his children, Anthony, Talia, Tiffany and Marissa; his siblings, Teresa, Jose, Yolanda, Carmen Denise and Jose Enrique; his several grandchildren; his numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, Tony was predeceased by his sister, Zoraida. Family and friends will gather on Sunday, June 2 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Tabernacle of Christ Church, 483 Main Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Tony may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
