Obituary for Antonio Barbieri Antonio Barbieri, 86, of Westbrook, CT, beloved husband of Elvira (Puleri) Barbieri, entered into eternal peace, Friday, Dec. 7, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Born and raised in Springfield, MA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Angelina (DePalo) Barbieri, and was a graduate from Springfield Trade High School class of 1950.

Following high school, Antonio enlisted with the U.S. Coast Guard stationed on a light ship out of Boston, and served honorably during the Korean Conflict. He resided in Enfield for most of his life and was employed with Hallmark Cards for 25 years before retiring. He was a parishioner of St. Patrick Church and was a longtime member of Mt.

Carmel Society. He was also a past State Commander of the former Rinaldi-Fede Post Italian American War Veterans. He enjoyed boating, and coaching youth sports, including basketball and softball.

Antonio was also a wonderful chef, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Antonio Barbieri of Medford, OR, John Barbieri of San Francisco, CA, Carmine Conte, and Anthony Conte and his wife Dorajeanne, all of Wellfleet, MA. He also leaves a granddaughter, Aria Conte, as well as nephews, Michael and Jay Barbieri and many additional nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his twin brother, Michael “Mickey” Barbieri. Visitation hours will be held from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 11,2018 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd.

, Enfield. A funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2018 at Leete-Stevens.
