Obituary for Sheila M Ireland (Sanderson) Sheila M. (Sanderson) Ireland, 82, loving wife of George R. Ireland for 10 days shy of 60 years, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday December 3, 2018. She was born in Hull, Yorkshire England on June 4, 1936, daughter of the late Gordon and Monica (Adamson) Sanderson. She emigrated to the United States in 1959.
Sheila was an accomplished painter in oils and acrylics, and eventually watercolors. She also enjoyed knitting and crocheting, and spending time in her beautiful garden with its Koi pond. Sheila was a longtime member of Blimey Limeys and the Transatlantic Bride and Parents Association.
In addition to her husband George, Sheila is survived by her children, Diana Loller and her husband, Robert, Yvonne Lovely and her husband Keith, Julie Einsiedel and her husband David, and George R. Ireland and his wife Heather; her grandchildren, Jeremy Freeman, Patrick Loller, Dustin Robbins, Monica Loller, Tyler Brauer Anton, Hannah Einsiedel, Daniel Einsiedel, David Einsiedel Jr., Gordon Ireland, and Lily Ireland, and her sister, Kathleen Gunnell. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, December 7, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 am at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St. Somers, CT 06072. A funeral service will follow at the funeral home.
