Obituary for April (Bryant) Brashear (Seymour) April Brashear, cherished wife and mother, departed this earthly life into the arms of her Savior the evening of Monday, December 31, 2018, in Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. She was thirty-three years, eight months and two days young. One of four children, she was born April Renee Bryant on April 29, 1985, in Mansfield, Missouri, to Randy and Gaylia (Largent) Bryant.
April was a graduate of the Springfield Parkview High School Class of 2003. Her love of helping people started a career in healthcare at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. While at Mercy and working towards a nursing degree, she met the love of her life, Brian Reid Brashear.
After getting engaged, she successfully battled brain surgery and continued her schooling. April earned her ASN graduating as an RN in 2011, and later received her BS, both from Southwest Baptist University. On July 9, 2011, she and Brian were married.
April fulfilled her dream of motherhood in 2015 with a little boy – Heston Reid – whom she loved more than anything. Her family and friends were her world. She loved all her nephews and cousins and extended family.
April continued to work as an RN spending some time in hospice care, but mostly working in home health bringing care, compassion and a bright ray of light to everyone she met. April was a woman of faith. She loved Jesus and professed her faith in Christ at a young age.
She was an active member, volunteer and choir member at Seymour First Baptist Church. April also liked to fish and travel, but time with Heston was her only real want. April was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Maxine and Ray Largent Jr., and her paternal grandparents George & Edwina Bryant.
April leaves behind her loving husband Brian, and adored son, Heston, of the home in rural Seymour; her parents, Gaylia Perry of Oklahoma, and Randy and Heather Bryant of Willard, Missouri; sister, Morgan Cummings, brothers, Lucas Bryant and Matthew Bryant; stepsisters, Stephanie and Luke McIntosh, Kristen and Zack Hook and Alexis Bryant; stepbrother, Alex Hazen; nephews, Asher and Miles Bryant, Levi and Travis McIntosh; Andrew Hook and Jacob Brashear; aunts, Diane and Don Bennett, and Kathleen and Daniel Sweatt, Debra Mabe and uncles, Johnny and Lori Bryant, Mark and Debbie Bryant, Chris Bryant, Michael Bryant; Jerry and Lissie Lofties; numerous cousins; mother-in-law, Missy and Tony Boring of Seymour, father-in-law, Jerry and Dolly Brashear of Koshkonong, Missouri, and brother-in-law, Boyd and Jamie Brashear; extended family, many more cherished friends, and fellow healthcare co-workers and her patients. April was the most cheerful, caring and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister and niece. Her smile brightened any room and the face of everyone she encountered.
A bright, loving, shining light in this world, she leaves behind a legacy of what we all should strive to be in this world. Heaven will shine brighter with her there. She was welcomed with the open arms of her Savior and grandparents gone before her.
