Ardis’ Obituary Ardis Bertha Wilhelmina Wills, age 81 of New Ulm died peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019, at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral service will be 11 am on Friday, May 17, 2019, at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Don Sutton will officiate, and burial will follow in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.

Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Thursday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-North Chapel. The visitation will continue from 10-11 am on Friday at the church. To leave an online condolence for her family, or to sign the guestbook, go to: mvfh.org Ardis is survived by her daughters, Cindy Wills of Eden Prairie, Nancy (Mike) Bushard of Chaska; son, Randy (Sharon) Wills of Prescott, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Amanda (Tim) Hanson of Prescott, Wisconsin, Jeremy (Emily) Wills of Cottage Grove, Adam Bushard of Chaska, Madeline Bushard of Chaska; great-grandson, Charles Jacob Hanson; brothers, Richard Bruns of New Ulm, Roger Bruns of Mankato, Gary (Shirley) Bruns of New Ulm, Tom (Ann) Bruns of New Ulm; brother-in-law, Lyle (Carol) Wills of Nicollet; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harlan Wills in 2007; her sisters, and their spouses, Lois and Ronald Dauffenbach, Sylvia and Wallace Wills; her brother, and his spouse, Myron and Lila Bruns; and her sisters-in-law, Adeline Bruns, and Lois Bruns. Ardis Bertha Wilhelmina Bruns was born January 26, 1938 in New Ulm to Dietrich “Dick” and Stella (Plagge) Bruns. She was a 1956 graduate from the Nicollet Public High School.

On May 23, 1959, Ardis was united in marriage to Harlan Wills at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland. This union blessed the couple with two daughters and a son whom together they raised in New Ulm. Ardis worked for over 28 years as a Mold Press Operator at 3M in New Ulm until her retirement in 2000.

Besides her work, there were a variety of hobbies that brought her great joy in life. She dearly loved the outdoors. Spending time tending to her rose garden, taking care of the yard, or simply watching the birds is where Ardis was most at peace.

As a wonderful caregiver to her family, her baking and cooking skills were second to none. She rarely left the house without putting time and care in her appearance. Her cheerful smile and sparkling blue eyes will be remembered by all.

Ardis was a devout member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on numerous committees over the years. What Ardis loved most in life was her family. She cherished every moment she got to spend with them and especially loved getting to watch her grandchildren grow.

Although Ardis is gone, countless wonderful memories will forever stay in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Blessed be those memories.
