Obituary for Arlan J. Garvis Arlan J. Garvis, age 83, of Minnetonka, died peacefully, surrounded by his family, on May 1, 2018. Preceded in death by his parents William J. & Mildred Soll Garvis. Survived by his wife, Marlene; sons Jason (Hope), Matthew, and Michael; grandchildren Noa and Aiden Garvis; brother, Gary (SueAnn) Garvis; sister-in-law, Suzanne Singer (Sim Gesundheit); loved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

He touched the lives of all who knew him, a devoted husband, caring father, special grandfather “Papa”, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend. His courage, endurance, sense of humor and love of life will forever be with us. A special thank you to the medical, nursing and hospice staffs at Methodist Hospital and Park Nicollet, the caring staff at Folkestone Gables, and his long-time physician Dr. Mark J. Schmidt for their care and concern.

Funeral service graveside 10:00 a.m. THURSDAY May 3, at BETH EL MEMORIAL PARK, 3726 Winnetka Avenue North, Crystal, Minnesota. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to donor’s charity of choice. SHIVA, 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at 4597 Woodridge Road, Minnetonka.
