Obituary for Joyce Gockel (Benson) Joyce C. Gockel, age 86 of Minneapolis. Born July 1, 1931 in Glendive, MT; passed away peacefully on June 25, 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer with her daughter and grandchildren by her side. Preceded in death by husband, Mark; parents, Elmer and Agnes Benson; and sister, Eloise.

Survived by daughter, Mary Udd; grandchildren, Ryan, Aaron and Lauren Udd; sister, Agnes; family and friends. Joyce grew up in Thief River Falls, MN. She loved crossword puzzles, loved dressing up for Halloween, had a great sense of style, and a terrific sense of humor.

She would always say Mary was her “greatest gift”. The light and joy of her life were her grandchildren. Funeral Service 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 17th at Gill Brothers Funeral Home, 5801 Lyndale Ave.

S., Mpls. with visitation one hour prior to service only. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
