OBITUARY Arleen D. McCracken March 1, 1934 – October 23, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Arleen Delores McCracken, (“Kim” to her friends) died on October 23, 2018 at the age of 84. She was a fifty year resident of Colorado Springs. Passing away at her home of more than forty years and in the same bed as her late husband, Kemp (“Mac” to his friends) some 12 years earlier.

She died comfortably, content and where she wanted to be. She did not die alone. Born in 1934, Kim was raised in Independence, Ohio.

She worked in her father’s grocery store until graduating high school. Kim enlisted in the United States Air Force as a Stenographer. After serving three years, she received The National Defense Service Medal.

She was honorably discharged from service in July 1957. Kim married Mac in1956, she became a wife, mother, grand-mother and eventually a greatgrand- mother. She later pursued other interests and passions throughout her life such as being an active member in The Colorado Springs Irish Club and also as an awarded photographer.

She loved being surrounded by family and friends. She had a genuine smile and a mischievous sense of humor. Kim is survived by her daughter, Chris (Joe); sons: Lee, Scott and David McCracken; grandchildren: Joshua, Amber, Krysta, Nathan and Justin (Hailey); and great-grandchildren: Austin, Mariel, Emma and Maverick.

A visitation will be held from 10am to 12pm, Tuesday, October 30th with graveside services immediately following at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80910. The graveside service will include military honors, presented by the High Frontier Honor Guard.
