Obituary for Arlene Elizabeth Pedersen Passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the age of 96. Arlene was born in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan, Canada, on November 17, 1921, a daughter of the late Frederick and Mary (Devine) Anstett. She was united in marriage to Lester J. Pedersen on September 20, 1945.
He preceded her in death on April 12, 2017. Arlene was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling and playing Bridge.
She was a fantastic cook, supplying her family with home-baked goods weekly. She was an avid Detroit Tigers and Red Wings fan and loved watching her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events. She is survived by her three sons, Kevin (Joelene) Pedersen, Lance Pedersen and Keith (Nancy) Pedersen; five grandchildren, Matthew (Amber) Pedersen, Lauren (Matthew) Kulbago, Kristin (Christopher) Osborn, Brandon Pedersen and Ryan Pedersen; six great-grandchildren and another soon to arrive; and brother, Gerald (Irene) Anstett.
She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, June 4th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. The funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5th at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49024, where friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. until time of the service.
Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church.
