Arnold Edward “Pete” Wooters Pete was born in Traverse City, Michigan on September 1, 1937. He passed away Monday, May 20 at Hiland Cottage Hospice House. He graduated from Traverse City High School as part of the class of 1955.

He served in the U.S. Navy for two years and traveled to Japan and Korea. Upon his return to Traverse City, he married his high school sweetheart Jo Hamilton. Together they raised three children.

Pete’s work in institutional food sales took his family to the Lansing area. Pete and Jo returned to Northern Michigan in 1986, settling in Petoskey. A lover of all sports, Pete excelled in golf and softball.

Later in life he coached women’s high school softball and worked at Little Traverse Bay Country Club. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Wilhelmina and Harold Wooters, his brother Richard Wooters, and his daughter Sandra Mills. Surviving are wife Jo, brother Ron Wooters of Traverse City, son Scott Wooters of Traverse City, daughter Susan Jackson (David) of Grand Ledge.

Pete was very proud of his seven grandsons. No services are scheduled at this time. The family asks that memorials be directed to Hiland Cottage Hospice House or Little Traverse Bay Humane society.
