Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 Mrs. Arthenia J. Smith was born Sunday, July 29, 1928 in Anson County SC.

She peacefully departed this earthly life Saturday, May 26, 2018 at 4:00 PM at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro, NC. Mrs. Smith was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Clifton Earl Smith, Sr. and to this union eight children were born. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband Mr. Clifton Earl Smith, Sr., along with two sons Mr. Clifton Earl Smith, Jr and Mr. Gerald Smith.

She will be solely missed. Mrs. Smith was a humble, kind and loving. She loved and enjoyed her family and instilled faith and trust in God, love of family and hard work in them.

She enjoyed gardening, canning and preserving foods. Flowers and the beauty they bought to the world gave her great joy. Mrs. Smith was an active member of Greenleaf Christian Church, Goldsboro NC, until her declining health, she loved and appreciate Pastor William Barber and her Greenleaf Church Family.

Mrs. Smith was educated in the Anson County Public School System. She retired from Goldsboro Milling Company, Goldsboro, NC, where she worked as a machine operator. Mrs. Smith leaves to cherish her life and memories to three daughters Helen Melton, Patricia Smith, Lisa Mason and Diane Dickerson whom Mrs. Smith loving called her daughter all of Goldsboro NC and three sons Timothy Smith and Jimmy Smith both of Goldsboro, NC and Jackie Smith of Virginia Beach, VA; nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, a cherished nephew Shalamo Bracey and several loving and special friends, Molly Faulk, Catherine Moore, Sophia Miller, Ledoris Bennett and a host of family and treasured friends.

Funeral service will be held Friday, June 1, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Greenleaf Christian Church in Goldsboro. Burial will follow at Golden Gate Cemetery in Pikeville. Viewing will be held at the Greenleaf Christian Church prior to the service from 12 until 12:45 p.m. on Friday, June 1, 2018.
