Arthur’s Obituary Arthur Curtis Cook was born on April 6, 1937 in Guthrie, OK to Roy Alvin Cook and Grace Nellie (Kinney) Cook and passed away in Fort Worth, TX. He went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 2, 2019. Curtis was retired from Alcatel (formerly Rockwell International), where he worked as a quality control inspector on communications equipment.

He had a passion for many things, including bible study, baseball, mechanics, history, nature, geography and travel. He especially loved the Colorado mountains, Alaska, and the Grand Canyon. Curtis always managed to take his family on summer vacations, even on a limited budget.

He also enjoyed working on cars and often referred to himself as a “shade tree mechanic”. Curtis grew up on a farm in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. After he retired, he achieved his dream of owning a farm, raising cows and tinkering with tractors.

Curtis is survived by two siblings – sister Laura Jenelle Simunek and brother Kinney Alvin Cook; four children – daughter Carla Ann Wilbanks, son Michael Wayne Cook, daughter Shelle Lynn Woods, son Roy Curtis (Rusty) Cook; five grandchildren – Jason Ardeshiri, Sarah Grinde, Derek Wilbanks, Lucille (Lucy) Cook, Madison Cook; and two great-grandchildren – Leah Grinde and Johnathan Grinde. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents – Roy and Grace Cook; his beloved wife of 56 years – Emma Jane Cook; brother Roy Glenn Dale Cook; and grandson Jacob Scott Hogan. Graveside service will be held Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Garland Memorial Park.
