Funeral Services will be at Conley & Vanden Berg Funeral Home at 11:00 am and calling hours at 10:00 am for Arthur William Jones Sr. 89, who departed this life Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at his home surrounded by family and Hospice of the Valley. Mr. Jones Sr. was born November 1, 1929 in Youngstown, OH, a son of Austin and Alberta Nance Jones. He married Susie Mae Jones in 1949 and they had three children.

He attended The Rayen School and left for the Army and became a WW2 veteran. He graduated from Shenago Valley Vocational School in plumbing, carpentry, and bricklaying. He remodeled his own home and built a two car garage.

He also was a landlord for 13 different properties in Youngstown. He worked at Commercial Sharon, Republic Steel, Brier Hill Sheet & Tube, and US Steel in Youngstown and retired from Valley Mold in Hubbard in 1984. He was instrumental in purchasing the Dairy Dee Frozen Custard Stand for his daughter.

He was also a weight lifter, who could press train wheels. He was an avid fan of Frank Sinatra and John Wayne and going to the movie theater. He still maintained lifelong friendships with Rich Fitch, Willie Walker, Jim Johnson, and Joe Robinson.

He leaves his only daughter, Jo (Mary Jo) (Eddie Jr.) Jones-Mckee and three sons, Arthur (LaVada) Jones Jr., Terry (Juice) Jones all of Youngstown, and Jared Jones of Indianapolis. He also leaves a sister, Netta Jones of Youngstown, a brother, Joe Holley of North Carolina; a host of aunts, uncles, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
