Arthur L. “Red” King, 95, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Tuesday morning February 5, 2019. Born November 14, 1923 in Noble County, Ohio, he was one of 10 children born to the late Robert and Minnie (Bates) King. He was a graduate of Summerfield High School in Caldwell, OH.

He went on to serve our country during WW II with the US Army’s 101st Airborne, 501st PIR, earning 2 battle stars. Red was the owner of King’s Farm Tire Center in Eaton for 32 years and was a member of the Eaton Baptist Temple. A string musician, he loved to play Old Country, Bluegrass and Country Gospel music and played at the West Alexandria American Legion Post on Thursday evenings.

He enjoyed hunting, camping and other outdoor activities. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on July 16 , 2014 by beloved wife of 69 years Alice W. (Barnes) King: grandson Jason King: and 9 brothers and sisters. Survived by sons David King and wife Diane of Eaton; Robert King and wife Daisy of Huntsville, OH; Michael King and wife Betty of Chapin, SC; and Ralph King and wife Robin of Eaton: grandchildren Jennifer Domecq and husband Drew of Columbus, OH; Mark Irvin and wife Debbie of New Jersey; Shannon King of Urbana, OH; Matthew King and wife Victoria of Vandalia, OH; and Annie Salsbury and husband Brad of West Manchester, OH: great grandchildren Mitchell, Madeleine, Mirabel and Maybrie Domecq; Alexander and Susan Irvin; Alexis, Kellen and Olivia King; and 2 more on the way from Matthew and Annie.

Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday February 9, 2019 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens – 3377 US Rt. 35; West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM in the funeral home with Pastor Lowell Spencer presiding and conclude with military honors at the graveside at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery.
