94, of Bristol, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at the RI Veterans’ Home, Bristol. He was the beloved husband of the late Loretta (Mazzeo) Buteau. Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Napolean “Paul” and Cora (Bernier) Buteau.

Arthur was a school teacher for most of his life, teaching throughout the state of RI as well as in Africa most notably at the Firestone Rubber Plantation in Liberia. Teaching was in his blood, and it carried throughout every facet of his life. In his later years, Arthur enjoyed playing bingo and watching his beloved Red Sox and other Boston sports teams.

He is survived by his loving children, Stephen A. Buteau of Providence, Robert P. Buteau, Lisa L. Buteau and the late Kenneth J. Buteau; his dear brother Allen N. Buteau of Smithfield and his late sisters, Dorothy French, Mildred St. Ours, Evelyn Euart and Gladys Kwolek. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Ave.

, Cranston on Tuesday at 9:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am in All Saints Church, 111 Greenwich Ave. , Warwick. Burial with military honors will follow in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.

VISITING HOURS will be held on Monday from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.
