Obituary for Arthur P. Stasio Arthur P. Stasio, 94, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2019 in the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born and raised in Newark, Arthur settled to South Plainfield in 1963. A veteran of WWII, Arthur served in the United States Army from 1943 – 1946.
Following his honorable discharge, Arthur entered the workforce as tile setter working alongside his late father-in-law. Throughout the late 60’s & 70’s, Mr. Stasio worked as a realtor in the greater South Plainfield area and finished his career with Approved Fire Services retiring in the 1980’s. Mr. Stasio was a longtime member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield.
He was a devout to his faith but more importantly he was a devout family man. In addition, Arthur was blessed with the gift of being skilled artist. He loved to draw and paint and also enjoyed baseball and golf.
He will be fondly remembered for his gentle character as well as his notorious smile. Predeceased by his wife of 61 years who died in 2015, Jennie L. Stasio; surviving are his son, Marc Stasio and his wife Joan of South Plainfield; four grandchildren, Joseph Stasio, Nora Sullivan, Anna Stasio and Marc Stasio and a sister, Ann Mossucco. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 11:30am in the McCriskin – Gustafson Home for Funerals, 2425 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield NJ 07080.
