Obituary for Arthur Thompson Print Arthur Thompson, 95, of Royal Lakes, IL died Thursday, November 29, 2018 at his home in Royal Lakes, IL. He was born May 25, 1923 to Arthur and Ethel (Thorp) Thompson Sr. Arthur married Lucille Martin in Manhattan, NY. Arthur was Merchant Marine during WWII and retired from a career of coal mining with Monterey Coal.

He enjoyed fishing, listening to old school jazz, working in his yard and gardening. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, and daughters, Arthurene Day and Mary Ragland. Survivors include: his grandchildren; Tony Day, Mickey Day, Norman Day, Aisha Ragland, Kristin Ragland, and Bridgette Ragland, 13 great grandchildren; including, Kenyalla Matthews, Aikee Matthews, Almetris Smith, Brijae Brown, and Kai Lovelace.
