Astrita’s Obituary Astrita Marko, 83, of West Lafayette, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the home of her daughter. She had been in failing health for 2 years and was cared for by her daughter and granddaughters. Astrita had been living with her daughter and family for the past 10 years coming here from Albania.

She was born July 20, 1935, in Tirana, Albania to the late Koco and Aglla Basho Semini. Her marriage was to Themistokli Marko on August 25, 1956 in Albania and he preceded her in death. Before retirement, Astrita was an elementary school teacher in Albania.

Surviving are her children Gjelok (Marita) Marko of Germany, Dina (Nikollaq) Shano of West Lafayette, Gjoni (Marcela) Marko of Canada, grandchildren Vasilika Shano, Marina Shano, Andon Shano, Ana Maria Marko, Mark Marko, Christian Marko, Mathias, Emmanuel and Jasmin Marko. Also surviving is her brother Edmond (Marjeta) Semini of Freeport, IL and a sister, Margarita Katundi of Albania. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service at 10:00 am on Saturday, at the Upper Room Christian Fellowship, 2234 Indian Trail Dr. West Lafayette.

Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery in West Lafayette.
