Augusto Herrera-Sanchez May 07, 1959 – January 31, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Augusto “Gus” Herrera-Sanchez age 59, of Noble, passed away Thursday, January 31, 2019 at St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was born on May 7, 1959 in San Jose de palmas municipio de Alaquines, S.L.P. Mexico. Augusto was the oldest of eleven children born to J. Antonio Herrera Gudino and Carlota Sanchez Aguilar.

Augusto grew up in Mexico and learned how to work hard as a young man. He later married and raised five children. In 1985, he moved to the United States and lived in the Norman, Oklahoma area.

For several years he worked for the Hiland Dairy in Norman. He then moved to Iowa and worked as a farmer and butcher for 10 years. Augusto was known as adventurous.

He loved to travel and move around from place to place. He moved several more times, before moving to Houston and living there several years. For the past ten years he has lived back in Oklahoma, living in the Purcell, Lexington and Noble areas.

He was a hard worker and in his later years he worked in construction. He loved to work with his hands and was a good carpenter, framer, bricklayer and general handyman. For the past several years he has been in poor health.

Throughout his life, Augusto loved to fish and be around his family. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by: His father, Antonio Herrera Gudino.

He is survived by: Mother, Carlota Sanchez Aguilar, Five children, Gerardo, Jorge and Carlota Herrera-Martinez of Mexico. Augusto and Alicia Herrera of Iowa. 10 brothers and sisters, Magdalena del Pilar Becerra, Jose Victor Herrera Sanchez, Emigdio Herrera Sanchez, Dora Alicia Herrera Sanchez, Maria de Jesus Rangel, Antonio Herrera Sanchez, Rafael Herrera Sanchez, Juan Carlos Herrera Sanchez, Maria Cristina Herrera Sanchez and Carolina Herrera Sanchez.

Eleven grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. A rosary service will be held at 7:00P.M. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019 at Wilson-Little Funeral Home Chapel, 127 South Canadian St., Purcell, OK.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 307 W. Jefferson St., Purcell, OK. Burial will be at Noble, OK.

I.O.O.F. Cemetery, 1 mile south of Noble on State Hwy 77.
