Avis’ Obituary Avis B. Holt, 87, wife of Hoyt L. Holt passed away at her home Sunday, May 19, 2019 after an illness. Mrs. Holt was born February 19, 1932 in Valdese NC. She was the daughter of Reverend W. E. Bost and Mae Dellenger Bost.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was retired from Mullins School District. She was a member of Mullins First Baptist Church where she served in many capacities for over 65 years.

One of the things she enjoyed most was teaching Women’s Sunday School, as recent as the Women’s Fidelis Class. She is survived by Hoyt L. Holt, her husband of almost 70 years; her Children: Rusty Holt of Savannah, Georgia, Sue Holt of North Myrtle Beach and Billy and Vicki Holt of Greenville, SC. She is survived also by 5 Grandchildren, Jarrod Holt (Amanda) of Brunswick, Georgia, Brianne (Matt) Jones of Greer, SC, Kaley (Curtis) Saffian of Taylors, SC, Will (Jaime) Holt of Greer, SC and Hannah (Clayton) Perry of Greer, SC.

She has 11 Great Grandchildren. She is survived by a Brother, James Bost of Lynchburg, Virginia and a Sister, Mrs. Irma Barker of Conway, SC. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 22 from 1:00 until 2:30 in the Mullins First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 in the Sanctuary of Mullins First Baptist Church, Reverend Robbie Baxley officiating. Burial will follow in Cedardale Cemetery, directed by Cox-Collins Funeral Home of Mullins. The family will be at the home on 212 Azalea Drive, Mullins, S.C. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to Mullins First Baptist Church, PO Box 443, Mullins, SC 29574 or McLeod Hospice PO Box 100551 Florence, SC 29502.

The family of Avis Holt is deeply grateful for the many family and friends for the love and support during this difficult time over the past weeks, especially the family of Mullins First Baptist Church.
