Fields, 71, of Montpelier, IN, passed away at 2:20 AM on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on Thursday, February 26, 1948, in Norton, VA. Barbara was a 1966 graduate of Rye Cove High School, Clinchport, VA.

She had retired from United Technology in Huntington, IN, and had also worked for Premix, UTI, Hayes Lemmerz in Huntington, and Pizza King. She will be sadly missed by her Sons – Barry Wayne Fields, Montpelier, IN, Joseph C. Fields, Montpelier, IN, Christopher T. (Venus) Fields, Montpelier, IN, Daughters – Rebecca Ann Fields, Galena, OH, Jessica Lynn Fields, Dunedin, FL, Grandchildren – Megan Hayward, Montpelier, IN, Britton Fields, Hartford City, IN, Alexis “Lexi” Fields, West Lafayette, IN, Kurtis Fields, Montpelier, IN, Robert “Robbie” Fields, Montpelier, IN, Dustin Coleman, Poneto, IN, Ashley Coleman, Poneto, IN, Kelsey Fields, Montpelier, IN, Nevaeh Fields, Montpelier, IN, Jordan Brown, Dunedin, FL, and 20 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Father – William F. Carter, Mother – Lettie Ann (Hill) Carter, Sister – Betty Garland, IN, Sister – Lorene Welch, Brother – Hobart Carter, Brother – Donald Carter, Brother – Harold Carter, Sister – Agnes Carrie Carter, and Sister – Helen Shupe.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home 109 W Windsor St Montpelier on Sunday, March 24, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Viewing will also be held at the Hills Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, Scott County, VA. on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

A service to celebrate Barbara’s life will follow at 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 24, 2019 with Pastor Bobby Thomas officiating. There will also be a service held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Hills Chapel Freewill Baptist Church at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the Hills Chapel Cemetery in Horton Summit, Mabe VA.
