Obituary for Barbara Ann Lofton Barbara Ann Lofton, age 80, daughter of the late Thelma Mae (Harris) Herd and the late Sterling Porter Herd was born June 8, 1938 in Memphis, TN and passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2018 in Springfield, MO. She was united in marriage to Joel Lofton on October 28, 1957 in Hernando, MS. Barbara was a homemaker most of her adult life and also worked as a doctor’s office assistant and a florist.

She was a devoted wife, mother grandmother and daughter. Barbara loved her family with all of her being and lived her life for Jesus. Her hobbies included reading, sewing, painting and creating all kinds of arts and crafts.

She raised African violets and other plants and she was a very skilled pianist. Barbara is survived by her son Jeffery David Lofton, his wife Jennifer of Nixa; four grandchildren Hannah Lofton, Chloe Lofton, Sawyer Lofton and Smith Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Joel of 46 years; and a grandchild Mark Dunston.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the funeral home.
