Obituary for Jimmie Steele Jimmie D. Steele, of Springfield, Missouri, age 85, passed away September 12, 2018 at Cox South Hospital. He was born December 26, 1932, in Pattonsburg, Missouri, the son of Anna Mae Steele. He was joined in marriage August 15, 1966 to the love of his life, Bronice Yates.

Jim was a retired truck driver and an avid big rig enthusiast. Jim had a love for horses, dogs, classic country & western music and family. Jim was a practical jokester, who enjoyed sharing his orneriness with others.

The word stranger was not in his vocabulary, he met friends everywhere he traveled. He was preceded in death by his mother Anna Mae Lopez and grandparents Roy and Lennie Steele, who raised him. Jim is survived by, Bronice (Yates) Steele, his wife of 54 years; children Tracy Harrison (J.R.) of Grants, New Mexico, Chessie A. Robbins of Denair, CA, and William R Young (Mary) of Plato, MO; 4 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers Gene England (Bonnie) of Riverside, CA, Kenneth England (Lee) of Lewis, Delaware; as well as, several nieces and nephews and too many friends to mention.

A memorial service will be held at Kingsway Free Will Baptist Church, 2615 North Park Avenue, Springfield, Missouri on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM.
