Mrs. Barbara Barney Boger, 84, of Advance, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019. She was born September 17, 1934 in Davie County to Paulina S. Barney and Wiley S. Barney. Mrs. Boger was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church and Elbaville United Methodist Church Ladies Group.

She spent her early working career at Hanes Knittwear, then as a homemaker. Mrs. Boger enjoyed her grandchildren and had a gift of cooking, baking, sewing and enjoyed gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years, Clyde Henry Boger and two brothers, Roy S. Barney and Paul G. Barney.

Surviving are her two sons, Larry Boger (Donna) and Scott Boger (Candice); four grandchildren, Brandi Goodin (Jason), Lucas Boger, Austin Boger and Jordan Boger; one great granddaughter, Megyn Goodin; one brother, Rommie Barney (Cathy); one sister, Lucy Barney and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with Dr. Chuck Baker officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.

The family would like to thank all the staff at Trinity Elms Memory Enrichment Center for their love and support. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church Good Neighbor Fund,321 Redland Rd. , Advance, NC 27006 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 4615 Dundas Dr., Greensboro, NC 27407.
