Mrs. Boyd, is a retired school teacher for McKenzie Special School District and a member of First Baptist Church. She died January 6, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Boyd was born August 2, 1941 in McKenzie, TN to Bernard and Beatrice Scates Downey.

She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of fifty seven years Jerry Boyd of McKenzie, a daughter Andrea (Boo) Davis of McKenzie, a son Clay (Shanna) Boyd of McKenzie and two granddaughters Shelby Davis and Savannah Davis.
