Barbara M. Brown, 86 of Evansville, formerly of Ohio County, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019 in Evansville. She was born July 28, 1932 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Joseph Henry and Mary Herring. Barbara was a member of Hartford Church of God and was a former cook at Big Top Restaurant in Evansville.

Aside from her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Brown; one son, David Brown and one brother, Donald B. Herring. Survivors include her children, Sonny (Debbie) Brown of Clay, Kentucky, Johnny (Wanda) Brown of Caneyville, Tommy (Lisa) Brown of Rosine, Lester (Terri) Brown of Morgantown, Chuck (Samantha) Brown of Wadesville, Indiana, Susie Sallee of Evansville and Mona Gail (Walter) Alvey of Evansville; two brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Matthews of Springfield, Ohio and Leon (Brenda) Herring of Springfield, Ohio and one sister, Shirley Earnest of Jacksonville, Florida. Barbara was blessed with twenty-four grandchildren and thirty-seven great-grandchildren whom she adored.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Brown Cemetery in Ohio County.

Friends may visit with Barbara’s family from 1-8 P.M. Monday and from 9 A.M. until the time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Online messages of condolence may be left for the family of Barbara M. Brown by visiting her memorial tribute at www.
