Obituary for Barbara J. Beasecker Barbara June Beasecker (née Emerson), age 70, passed away suddenly May 30, 2018 with family and friends near. Born in Muskegon, she lived briefly in England and spent several years in Bay City, MI, before returning to her beloved hometown. She was a graduate of Albion College, where she received a BA in English and French, and of GVSU, where she earned her MA in Special Education.

Barbara loved travel and saw much of Europe. She also loved warm, sunny locations, and had recently returned from a trip to Florida. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Dorothy “June” Emerson.

She is survived by her son, Ryan Beasecker, and brother, Tom Emerson. She also leaves behind her loving extended family, countless dear friends, and many kind neighbors. No funeral services will be held, as it was Barbara’s wish to have her cremains scattered privately.

She said that we can celebrate her life best by “remembering her and drinking wine”. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the burn unit of Mercy Hospital’s Hackley Campus or speak to Ryan about contributing to the trust for the ongoing care of Tom Emerson.
