Barbara Lee Frost, 83, of Carterville, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2019, at Riggin-Pillatsch & Burke Funeral Home in Carterville, with Pastor Bob Morwell officiating. Burial will be in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Saturday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Ladies’ Auxiliary at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. Barbara was born on December 9, 1935, in Williamson County, Illinois, to Carl and Bessie (Jones) Bloodworth.

She married Billy Dean Frost on August 30, 1953, in Corinth, Mississippi. He preceded her in death on October 25, 1986. She is survived by her daughters, Terri McNeill of Carterville and Traci (Robert) Wallace of Tallahassee, Florida; grandchildren, Jake (John Copeland) McNeill of Atlanta, Georgia, Luke (Christina) McNeill of Springfield and Malori Wallace of Tallahassee, Florida; sister, Jane Trexler of Elmhurst, Illinois; sister-in-law, Susette (Richard) Alexander of Carterville; and her best friend and travel companion, Helen Moore.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Irene, Maldetta, Pauline, Hazel, Lennie, and Velda; brothers, Carl, Laverne and Ted; son-in-law, John McNeill; and in-laws, Leo and Alice Frost. She was a receptionist for Dr. Fine for more than 25 years. Barbara volunteered at the Pink Geranium at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale.
